Listening to the "unplanned", for lack of a better word, nature of a lot of acid house and other genres containing 303 sequences I don't think this programming method was limited to hard techno either. There's a fair amount of vinyl with that particular style of programming on it. )īack in the past, in my hardcore techno days, the standard programming technique was to hit pretty random buttons on the sequencer and see what came out the other side. People who are complaining about this would probably not appreciate having the real thing either. So this is definitely "not a bug but a feature", will probably never get 'fixed', and I totally understand why the developer chose to design his plug-in this way.
There are only 'issues' for some people who dislike using the authentic TB-303 sequencer emulation, and only want to use it as a MIDI sound module (which is still quite possible).

Implementing the TB-303 sequencer in full detail obviously was a very deliberate design choice by antto. So far the TAL-vocoder seems pretty favorite amoung the freeware solutions. I was already eying it as I'm looking for the 'vocoder of choice'. I found it very simple to use and it has instructions for setting up in Reaper and a few other DAWs, though the screenshots look like older version of Reaper. Here's a nice vocoder I just downloaded called Vocovee. Strangely enough I can't seem to be able to find a user-manual for Revitar.Īs for your template, I'll be happy to test it. Maybe you guys have got some better quality midi keys than me, so if anyone wants to test the template, let me know and I'll upload it somewhere.Īgain big thanks for your help. The beauty of it is that you could use this template with any guitar VST. So far, I've got some basic major and minor chords programmed in over two octaves. It doesn't work so well with my cheap midi keyboard, but worked well with a nanopad. Incidentally, I was messing around with the piz midi chords plugin, and I've got a track template set up where you can play a downstrum and an upstrum using the same key. There's a drop-down list under the 'chord' section that lists all the available chords for whichever preset you are using. For instance, if you press E3, that sounds like E major, and E flat3 sounds more like E minor.
I think the major chords are on the white keys, and the minor chords on the black keys in the C3 to B3 range.

We're not talking 'average' freeware here, this thread collects the top-notch freeware, for building a killer setup, not merely 'collecting everything free out there' :D I still don't agree with that sentiment :Dįind something that sounds better then Tyrell )įind something that has more options then Oatmeal ) On the other hand, they still sound better, or have more options than the average freeware.
